Yup – it IS littering…

Clunk! A nice drive slices to the right and pops into a watery abyss – never to be seen again. What will become of that golf ball….where will it go…..what will it see?

Well, maybe that’s a bit too wordsmith-y.

Fact of the matter is: it’s littering. Many clubs don’t remove balls from the water (especially if it’s a natural body of water), which means that piece of dimpled plastic will sit forever. Now, I’m not going to argue that it’s going to leech some carcinogenic material and kill all the fish in the ocean – but it’d be nice to go home at the end of the day without upsetting a natural habitat with materials that have no business hanging around.

Cool then to see this development – http://bit.ly/b1zP9L – biodegradable golf balls that turn to fish food within 48 hours. Hello cruise ship, beach, and pier practice drives!

Doubtful it’s going to catch on to the PGA circuit, but cool nonetheless. And definitely “food” for thought.

Sorry, couldn’t resist….

Sure – we solve the litter problem and we’ll be left with obese fish! At least based on my skills…
